Sold our turtle

Jeff loves turtles and I am also fond of them because they remind me of my grandmother who would collect turtle figurines. We have had two pet turtles in our married life that have kind of grown with us. Our African sulcata tortoises are pretty neat animals. Our biggest one is so big I can't pick her up and our smallest of the two will follow you around like a dog. We got these two turtles as babies and just a few days ago sold one. We just have too much stuff to move-us, dog, and a baby!!! Not a fun task so we have been eliminating as much stuff as possible and one being one of our turtles. We paid 25 dollars for "Tae" four years ago and got 200 dollars when we sold her. Good return for our money, but I am also happy because she is at a good home.

Bread you can make out of food storage items

I learned how to make this bread this week and use some food storage items. Comes in handy!
Blender Old World Bread
2 C. water
1 1/2 C. wheat berries
Blend ingredients in blender until smooth.
Add 2 1/4 t. yeast
Put mixture into large bowl.
Cover with a towel and let it sit out all night.
Add 1 ¼ t. salt
Add 3-5 C flour slowly and mix by hand until the right mixture is obtained. (the amount of flour varies from one batch to another)
Knead for about 8 minutes. Put back into bowl and let rise until it has doubled in size.
-Could put in oven on 100 degrees for 20 min.
-Could leave out for about 1.5 hours
Spray med. sized bread pan.
Preheat oven to 350
Separate dough into two.
Roll out onto floured surface.

Add a spread onto the flat dough:
-Cinnamon & sugar
-Olive oil
-Garlic butter
-Etc.
Roll up and pinch ends
Place in pan and bake 25-30 minutes

House update

We have been trying to sell our Texas home since November and finally got an offer a week and a half ago. Our 4 bedroom 2000 sq. ft. home is on the market for 124,900. Can you believe how stinkin cheap the housing is out here in Midlothian, TX ??? We were excited that we finally did get an offer and signed the papers and were on cloud 9 that we would not have to show the house anymore. I have been cleaning this house with Brody in my arms and leaving for hours on end so many times that I have lost count. I counted the other day and it was in the 30's. I got a call today saying that the buyer fell through and our house is back on the market. I about hit the floor a little out of sadness and anger, but mostly because I am exhausted. I am blogging angry, which is not good. I showed the house today and they didn't show up. I scrambled getting everything perfect while Brody screamed at the top of his lungs. I left the house for two hours with a baby who was hungry, needed to be changed and didn't want to have anything to do with it all. I forgot my cell phone trying to get out in time and just showed up at a friend's house hoping she would be there. Luckily she was and I had a fun just killing time. Hopefully, a post will come soon saying that the house is SOLD!

Missing a great concert

My big camera is in AZ...still can't believe I leave so many things when I go to visit. I have a smaller one which allows me to take easy video, but the pictures are really grainy. No pictures of our life for this week :( I'll work on taking some fun video in the week to come.
This week Jeff and I booked it over to our local bakery-Busy B's. Doesn't that name just sound small town Texas? They have the best desserts I have ever tasted. While leaving we saw a poster that stated that Country Thunder will be coming to the town next to us the last week of May. Coming to sing is my absolutely, positively favorite singer: Tim McGraw. I really like his wife's voice Faith Hill also, but she is not singing at this Country Thunder. Waxahachie really isn't a big town, so I thought that going would be awesome because I might be able to get a descent seat. I rushed to the computer to buy tickets and they range from $150-$500! Well, I guess I am not going. Someday I will go to a Tim McGraw concert...someday. (violin playing a sad song) Don't feel sad for me though because I really can't complain about anything else...I am putting a countdown on the side of my blog reading how many days to go until I get to go to the BEACH! So much fun.

11 months was all it took

I have been listening to moms talk about how it took FOREVER until their kid finally crawled. Forever to them was 7 or 8 months. I got stressed out when Brody didn't crawl when every other kid his age did...I have to tell you that I got seriously stressed out about it. Jeff gave me an exercise routine I would do with him everyday...strech his legs and arms back and forth, back and forth. We almost called the doctor many times to see if she would do tests on him to make sure evrything was okay. We went to a Whole Foods Store and have been putting strawberry flavored fish oil in his bottles to help with brain development. Well 11 months old Brody is FINALLY CRAWLING. He is seriously booking it with a grin on his face. We are so proud of him. Here is the little speed racer in action (remember it is his first official day of actually getting around):

Little about the Ironman

After traveling to AZ a few weeks ago and toting around a ginormous baby, I noticed that I forgot my camera. So, our pictured life right now is not happening. I had my brother send over my pictures off of the memory card and thought it would be awesome to write about how much fun watching the Ironman was back in April. We had to have T-shirts and hats made and show off our "Red 26" club logo. It is a thing Jeff's family started-Red is the Ironman color and 26 is the number Iron falls on the periodic table. We have so many cool things with this logo screen printed and embroidered on. Brody is sporting the hat design and I am showing off the T-shirt. We stayed there in Tempe rooting the guys on until 11 at night...long day! We had a blast and are looking forward to November when Jeff's dad joins the guys and takes a shot at becoming an Ironman as well. The day started with over 2 miles of swimming at 7 AM.

Next, the 112 mile bike.
