Mom loves the nap time

I love it when the baby is snug, warm, and SLEEPING! A lady who gets adjusted at Jeff's office made this cute fluffy mat. I put it by the computer and Raelynn fell fast asleep...our computer puts out a constant hum and heat. That did the trick! She is now 6 weeks and as far as I know super healthy. She is a great nurser and I am learning that eating the wrong foods can make for a super fussy baby. My list of foods I researched "not to eat" is about a mile long. Not fun, but when I stick to it she is a happier baby I have found. We love having a girl and I am starting to get out of the "just had a baby" haze.

Work Christmas party and some Holiday baking

Last night we had the Preferred Chiropractic work Christmas party at Rockin R Ranch.

I love cowboy food and as you can tell, so does Jeff:

(He looks GREAT as a cowboy)
In the fun little cowboy singing show they ask anyone who's Birthday it is to go up on stage...poor Heather has a loud husband and brother who thinks it is funny to point to her (isn't that like a third grade thing to do?!):

The best part of the night...the white elephant gift exchange. The limit was only 20 dollars and somehow Jeff and I ended up with a gift card to Texas Road House that has 60 dollars on it!
We have been attempting some Holiday baking. Okay, this really means that I add an egg to a mix and put it in the oven!
Brody has been in Science class for Gilbert Parks and Rec and on Thursday they are having a little Christmas party where the kids are to bring a treat. Brody picked out his own cookie mix at the store, cracked the egg, mixed the dough, and even rolled it out and decorated the cookies:

The kid HAD to sample every step he was doing. We had to wash hands very often!

Raelynn's baby blessing

Sunday was a great day for us...Raelynn was blessed and we were able to have the whole family come and hear it and then over to our house for a quick breakfast. My sister Christa has a wonderful camera, so I just hopped over to her blog and stole all her pictures to do my post! Isn't that the easy way to do it. :)
My little girl is so stinkin cute:

My Halloween labor

Raelynn was finally born 5 days late on Halloween. Kind of a crazy day to have your Birthday, but its hers now.
Sorry my labor story is graphic, but having a baby is not clean and scheduled...
I had a C-section with my first pregnancy and was really hoping to have a VBAC with this second pregnancy. I found a Dr. and hospital that would do that and was really anxious to actually go through the birthing process. When I went to my past due Drs. apt. I was really sad when we had to schedule a C-section for a week later. The baby hadn't dropped and it wasn't looking like I would be able to go into labor on my own before the schedule C-section. Halloween morning we had 8:00 church and I woke up kind of feeling funky. We decided not to go to church and I layed down. Jeff told me to continue to try to see if the baby was moving and at 11:45 as I was laying in bed I felt a pop in my stomach and was shocked when blood started coming out like crazy. I yelled for Jeff and he got beach towels and put them in the front seat of the car and we went off to the hospital. The funny thing was that I quickly grabbed a robe and threw it around me because I had bled through my other clothes and took them off to see where all this blood was coming from. Jeff sped down Pecos to the Chandler hospital as I was bleeding through the beach towels. It didn't hurt, but I was shaking because I didn't know what to do. When I got to the Hospital they layed me on a table to examine and I remember blood was just poring off of it. I was completely freaked out by this point and was being stabbed with IV's and heard a nurse say that we had no time to do a spinal tap for the C-section because the baby's heart beat was getting scary. They put a gas mask over my face and then I remember waking up later. They took Raelynn out at 12:27 and she proved to be a trooper because nothing was wrong with her. 8lbs. 2 ozs. 20 inches long with a beautiful face. She got a small cut on her forehead from the scalpel as they performed the C-section, but that was it. They were worried about her oxygen levels, but they turned out fine. What a relief. I was able to see her and then taken into a room. A little while later I looked down and there was blood all over my sheets. They had to call the on call Dr. to come down and take a look at what was going on. I had internal bleeding that was coming out of my incision. They cleaned me up and bandaged me up and a few hours later I looked down and it had happened again. The Dr. came back and bandaged my stomach super tight (the worst when you have a ton of staples already). I wasn't allowed to eat and started to throw up from having an empty stomach and all the pain medication. They kept me in a room that first night where I had a nurse with me pretty much all the time and a button to push that would give me meds through my IV. I ended up not being able to eat until dinnertime the next day. That was so hard because my stomach was completely empty from throwing up and I had to just lye there thinking about food. The Dr. said that they don't know why I had bled like I did, but that it was all mixed with the amniotic fluid. I almost had to have a blood transfusion, but luckily my levels went up quickly after all of the bleeding. On day 3 I got very sick again and that night the nurse figured it was from the pain meds so I was taken off all except Motrin. Kind of a painful experience, but what made it all worth while was at night I would lay Raelynn on my chest and we would fall asleep together. I am so glad the whole experience is over and I am now left with a huge cut full of staples from one hip to the other all bruised up from the internal bleeding. Each day is getting better and we are loving our perfect little girl.

Past due

Past due Doctors appointment today. Thia little girl inside my stomach likes it way too much. No progression and she has not dropped. I feel like she is super stuck up in my ribs. I was really trying with this baby not to have a C-section, but I had to go ahead and plan one for Tuesday November 2nd. That day I will be 41 weeks pregnant. That gives me until then to try to see if she will come out.The good side is that I can enjoy Halloween: go to our ward trunk or treat, go trick or treating with Brody, and eat lots of goodies.
I am really hating being pregnant. Actually, I have never liked one minute of it. When I was pregnant with Brody a girl told me that I would miss the belly so much when it was gone and guess what...I didn't at all! I ended up sleeping in our rocker chair in the front room last night because I couldn't get comfortable. I'm mentally done, but I guess I still have some more days to go.

Dear baby, This hurts!!!

39 week check up today. No progression. Baby isn't even dropping. I really don't think my belly can stretch anymore before it just rips open! Luckily, other than that everything seems perfectly fine. I have been getting some fun morning sickness feelings returning and throwing up coming back. But the bright side is that by the end of next week, whether forced or not, our baby girl will be here!

Girls Get together

Jeff's mom was nice enough to plan a get together where we ate lunch and celebrated baby Raelynn and Jeff's cousin Rachael's baby (due in January). We ate sandwiches and cupcakes over at Poppy's in Mesa.
Fun pile of presents:

My sisters: Alisha and Christa

My BFF's: Carlie and Tiffany

My mom and I:

I wish I would have gotten a picture with Jeff's mom, the one who planned the "sprinkle". It was a great Saturday!

Week of September 19-26th

Finally got our kitchen painted. We have been in our house for 6 months now. Feels good to have gotten rid of the fruit wallpaper that was there before!

Got a chance to go to niece Kayla's 8th grade softball game and nephew Kades baseball game...Brody loves his cousins.

Bought a new couch for our house...very soft...can't wait for it to get here in a week.

Should I be worried about this one?: Heard Brody singing the latest Kesha song on his way down the hallway to his daily Lavender bubble bath.

I am so uncomfortable pregnant...I will wake up in the middle of the night with half my body numb because I am literally squishing myself. :)

Saturday night Brody "went out" with a girl who works in Jeff's office. She took him bowling, out to eat and to the mall...all while Jeff and I got to go on a date with everyone from his side of the family. Brody says that Judith is his girlfriend...crazy boy!

(This happened last week) Found out my older sister Christa has stage 4 lung cancer...she starts Chemo again tomorrow...she already did all of this for breast cancer this year. Hope everything goes well for her!

35 weeks pregnant so far

Getting closer to the due date in October. I think we are going to be naming the little girl Raelynn Tatum Rogers. Brody is super excited and cannot wait!

Grandparents Day 2010

This past weekend was Grandparent's Day so Brody headed over to both his Grandparents houses and read them a story. He can read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" all by himself because he has memorized the pattern of words every page does and then looks at the picture to see what animal and color matches up. He did a great job...here he is reading to his Papa Steve...

Brody's cousin Kade Neman gave his his old Yoda costume. Brody got super excited and has been wearing it around everywhere. Poor kid is sweating a ton in it, but doesn't want to take it off...

I swear that kid gets a new freckle every single day!!!
Here is a random picture of the Brodsters with his pet chickens on his head. I think cousin Candin had something to do with this and even took the picture because I didn't even know it was in my camera...

Brody loves his animals

I went into the backyard the other day and found Brody riding our turtle. It was shocking because Brody did this all by himself and that kid is scared of everything. That kid has a minute long freak out if there is a fly or an ant anywhere in sight. Right now I feel like we have a zoo: 2 turtles, 2 chickens, a hamster, and a fish tank. Next, I need to get a double of me to do all the housework. :)

Disneyland and the Beach

We had a blast this year at the annual beach trip to San Clemente. Of course we had to make our way over to Disneyland while we were there!

It was super hot at Disneyland and super crowded.

Brody looked like such a little nerd in his too small hat, but it was the only one I could find in our car before entering the Disneyland park.

My favorite food I have ever eaten is a homemade waffle cone from the Disneyland icecream shop. Being pregnant this time I was in heaven!

We bought Brody a bubble gun and he went around the park shooting everyone...he thought it was super cool!

Greer in July

We had a fun mini vacation over the 4th of July up in Greer, AZ with Jeff's sister Summer and her 5 kids:
